WIISE S.r.l. Benefit Company was founded in 2012 by Dario Dongo—lawyer, journalist, and Ph.D. in European Food Law.

The company’s mission is to inform, educate, and raise public awareness to combat the global threat of malnutrition. In its 13 years of activity, WIISE has maintained a steadfast commitment to developing sustainable agri-food systems in alignment with the UN 2030 Agenda.

  • Contributing to the transition toward sustainable agri-food systems.
  • Disseminating independent information, free from commercial interests.
  • Promoting public health and balanced nutrition.
  • Reducing food waste and loss through research and innovation.
  • Supporting vulnerable social groups through solidarity and inclusive initiatives.

In 2024, WIISE published hundreds of articles, investigative reports, and in-depth analyses across its three portals:

All content remains ad-free to guarantee independent and authoritative reporting. Key topics covered include agri-food R&D, sustainability, biodiversity, public health, food safety, fraud prevention, labeling, supply chain policies, and the #VanghePulite campaign dedicated to the challenges faced by small-scale farmers.

WIISE participates in major European programs, including PRIMA, Horizon, and Horizon Europe. In 2024, the company contributed to two flagship projects:

  • EcoeFISHent: Advancing the circular economy in the fish supply chain through waste recovery and safe upcycling.
  • Wasteless: Reducing food waste via blockchain technology and a specialized digital toolbox.

These activities will continue into 2025 with new projects currently in the planning phase.

WIISE conducts educational activities within academic, professional, and institutional settings. Since 2021, founder Dario Dongo has served as a Professor of Food Law at the University of Naples Federico II, as well as the Universities of Turin and Sassari. Through the GIFT and FARE portals, WIISE continues to promote awareness regarding sustainable agri-food systems.

The FARE division has provided technical-legal and regulatory consultancy to national and international operators, trade associations, and related sectors (including food, supplements, chemicals, and FMCG).
